A failing marriage, a struggling writer, a new job, a new place, a new beginning... What could possibly go wrong? For Allison Pilch just about everything and anything. Walking away from a failing marriage Allison sets out on a journey to find her own way as a person and a writer and soon finds herself not only with a new place but a new job as well in the real estate office that is also the property management of her new home.
But as with anything too good to be true, there are mysteries and secrets that should be best left alone.
Her new boss, a handsome and devilish (almost literally) fellow has his eye on her. As does the owner of the building she's currently living in. But unlike her boss, this man shuns the light and hides in darkness, covered in bandages to avoid being seen for very good reasons. A past transgression has left him with a terrible curse forcing him to live a very lonely and isolated life. Yet Allison's sweet nature and considerate ways keep drawing him every closer towards reaching out and trying to make her life better in every way he can.
Soon Allison finds herself being drawn to each man, the one she can see and the one who remains a mystery but has inspired her writing in ways she never expected. Soon a web of intrigue and horror begins to unfold and Allison realizes she's in the middle of a nightmare and that there are more than one kind of monster in the world... A thrilling beginning to what I hope will become a trilogy or series.

Now in creating characters that seem real to the audience I've found that the more real and reachable the characters are (i. e. they're like people you know or might meet) they're the ones that the readers seem to really relate to and even come to love. Now one method I've used to make my characters seem more human and real is to give them traits that are familiar, and even somewhat odd but intriguing. I've given characters hobbies or activities I've tried. When they are finished with what I've written, some have even gone and done research of their own on the activity. Some have even taken it up and made it a part of their lives.
But how did that happen? Simple, whether it's playi…
Recently there's been a lot of discussion of Amazon Kindle's latest program... "Kindle Unlimited".
Now for those of you have heard but don't know a lot about it, here's a quick recap in a nutshell.

With Kindle Unlimited, you pay $9.99 a month to have unlimited access to Kindle books through Amazon. You don't have to 'buy' the books, you simply have access to them. Sort of like a private library that you pay a monthly fee to have access to. Now considering there are literally thousands of books on Kindle this is a pretty good deal for consumers. You can sample and read any the books and decide if you actually want to purchase a copy for yourself in e-book or maybe go for an actual print copy, without wondering whether or not the book is to your taste.
So on the surface, this sounds pretty good right? So how does thi…
