Greetings everyone.  I wish to make a couple of announcements.   First, after careful consideration and evaluating where things are at, I've decided to aim for releasing the book in time for June. This way people can enjoy it as part of their Summer reading. As a result of this decision I'm declaring the Kickstarter a failure and ended.  Mind you, I am not angry or upset by this. In fact I think it may be a blessing in disguise.  I will have more time to rework the book and possibly have some Beta-testers read it to get a better idea how my unpaid team and I do at getting it edited as best we can. If there still seem to be a lot of problems, then I may try another Kickstarter or find another way to raise the money for a professional editor. Well gang, I've got one week left in my Kickstarter for getting "The Ship" professionally edited. Right now it's sitting at 55% funded. $330.00 have been pledged, but there's still another $270.00 needed to make the goal. Will it happen? I don't know. If it doesn't, then it's back to the drawing board and try to do the best I can with my backup team and the release date will be pushed back again. Not my favorite option, but whatever will be, will be. If you want to make a pledge there's still 7 days left. No monies change hands unless the goal is met. Remember, pledging is like reserving your own copy of the book. It has begun... My Kickstarter is now active and ready to be visited folks.  Remember, a ll funds raised will be going to the editing of "The Ship" and any extra pledged monies will be going to get "The Bridge" professionally edited so I can put out a new proper 3rd edition. Okay, I know right off the bat most of you are going to be wondering, "What the hell?  I thought he had book 2 almost finished.  What's he talking about kickstarting it?"  Well, what I'm really talking about is Kickstarter.com.  For those who are not familiar with Kickstarter, here's a quick overview.  Kickstarter is a site where you can raise money for a specific art/creative project by getting people to donate to it.  Now it has to be something artsy or creative, like a comic book, cutting your own music album, an art project, or some other creative work that you need funds to help complete.  Mind you, the monies are intended to go to that project, not for you to take a vacation or go on a personal spending spree.  The object is to be able to get help to make a dream project a reality.   In my case, I'm going to be doing Kickstarter to pay for the professional editing for "The Ship".  Originally, I was going to try and fund this m...

Okay gang, guess what I'm up to this week?  I'm redoing "The Bridge"...AGAIN! Let me clarify, I'm reformatting "The Bridge" specifically for Kindle e-readers.  Last night I got a 3 star review on Amazon, which I've been anticipating for some time.  I mean, in spite of all the 4 and 5 star reviews, it was bound to happen right?  Of course.  But when I read the review I was stunned to see where some of the problems were for this reader.  They considered the story itself a 5 star read.  But the editing and formatting were barely 1 star.  Now I've known about the editing for some time and have plans in the very near future to get the book the professional edit treatment it needs.  I'll finally have the funds to do it, I'll explain how that happened in another post.   But the formatting issues that were raised stunned me and I couldn't help but smack myself in the head for being a fool.  Especially, when I went over to Amazon an...

The last 7 days have kept me busy.  I mean REALLY busy.  And the sad thing about it all is that some of this could have been avoided....up to a point.  Now I'm talking about re-editing my first novel AFTER it had already come out.  Why would I do that?  Because in spite of the combined efforts of myself and 2-3 other people checking the novel over for grammatical errors, a number of them got past all of us.  From day one, I was determined to try and put out as good a product as I possibly could.  And when I found out I'd failed, I felt obligated to go back and fix things.
