Trying to Raise Views and Interest for my Vlog...

Hi Gang, the traffic to my Vlog has been pretty good for an unknown but I'd like to increase the views.     I left a comment at YouTube, but my words were limited there. Here is an expanded comment:

    I like how you use the beach setting here and not just you sitting at the desk. The camera movement is fluid. However, there is a bit too much wind interference at times.

    In all honesty, though I ran the video to the end, I did not listen to it all. Sixteen minutes is a bit long to fit into the schedule I have allotted for blogging and social media. What I did hear was not especially anything new for me so I did not feel compelled to stay with it.

    In all your presentation is reasonably good and I can see that this vlog concept is a work in progress which you may be able to turn into something very good. You present well. I just think you need to tighten things up.

    Good luck with your efforts.

    By the way, you have Word Verification enabled in your comments which is somewhat of a hassle and may deter some from leaving comments at your blog. You may want to consider turning it off as a favor to visitors here.

    Hi Allan, I agree with Arlee Bird, it's a shame about the wind interference and 16mins is quite long. Maybe you could break it up into sections?

It Was Supposed To Be Just Another Day...

Hello everyone. I had been planning and hoping to start out this blog post with me being all... But then Monday happened, and I wound up feeling like... Here's what's been happening around here for the last few months (well more like for the last year). You see, part of the reason (well a very big reason actually) why I haven't been posting a lot in the last year is because I developed some health issues. Nothing life-threatening, mind you, but life altering. Keeping a long story short, as of May I had to leave my job at the county of Santa Cruz and take Disability Retirement.   Now this whole process has been ongoing since September of last year and now it's officially a year later, come to think of it. But throughout that time, I had a lot of doctor appointments, as well as dealing with a lot of stressful paperwork, which included short-term disability (which will be coming to an end this month). The Importance of Editing....

The last 7 days have kept me busy.  I mean REALLY busy.  And the sad thing about it all is that some of this could have been avoided....up to a point.  Now I'm talking about re-editing my first novel AFTER it had already come out.  Why would I do that?  Because in spite of the combined efforts of myself and 2-3 other people checking the novel over for grammatical errors, a number of them got past all of us.  From day one, I was determined to try and put out as good a product as I possibly could.  And when I found out I'd failed, I felt obligated to go back and fix things.
