Got An Answer Back On My Novel "THE BRIDGE"...

Finally got a response today. Never thought I'd be so happy to be rejected but at least I have an answer.  And while the novel was rejected I was also given a critique that gave me much food for thought. I'm going to do a rewrite of the story and try to decide where to go from there. More querying or try to e-publish. Any thoughts folks?

For those wondering and needing a reminder "THE BRIDGE" is a unique blend of paranormal horror/mystery/with a sci-fi twist that would make the Twilight Zone proud.

  1. More querying or e-publish? Neither. Refine your ms before making that decision. Use the critique feedback for guidance. Those issues come from a professional in the publishing industry, so they carry more merit than most other assessments. Once you have addressed the issues, then begin querying again or self-publish. In either case, your story will be better for the effort.

    1. That I will my friend, I love the advice int he critique. I'm 2 years older than when I finished it and have had a lot more insight into some things since then. So the advice I'm being given makes a lot of sense to me. Thanks so much.

  2. Consider also that an extensive critique is an invitation to revise and resubmit. They don't take the time for that with everyone. They saw something; maybe they want more.

  3. You make a good point there Sharon. Thanks for saying this, I appreciate it. I was told the story itself was good and strong, there were just too many other issues that prevented it from being taken on. And as I'm working on the rewrite I'm seeing all too clearly those problems and am working to correct them. I think the final draft after this rewrite may be the one I head to e-book with as well as querying.
